After a long gap of 10 years, Kritanjali Chalochittro, a production house founded by the late actor Manna, is going to produce yet a film under its banner.
The new film, directed by Nayeem Imtiaz Neyamul, is titled ‘Jam’. It had its launching ceremony on July 24 in Dhaka Club.
The main concept of this film, has come from the late journalist Ahmed Zaman Chowdhury. The story is written by Shelly Manna. The film’s script and dialogue are written by Pantho Shahriar. Aminur Rahman has composed the songs of the film.
The minister for road transport and bridges, Obaidul Quader, was present as chief guest at the launching ceremony. State minister for information, Tarana Halim, was present as a special guest at the ceremony.
Among veteran artistes, ATM Shamsuzzaman, Kohinoor Akhter Suchonda and Ahmed Sharif, among others, were also present.
Celebrated Indian actress Rituparna Sengupta also attended the ceremony. However, her appearance in the film has been kept as a surprise.
The main casts of the film are Dilara Hanif Purnima, Ferdous Ahmed and Arifin Shuvo.
Other casts include Omar Sani, Moushumi, Amit Hasan, Misha Shawdagor and Champa.
“At this moment, I remember the late actor Manna. If he were here, he would have been very happy. I would also like to thank Shelly Manna as she has again started producing films in keeping with the legacy of her husband. I’m happy to know that Manna’s son will be associated with the film,” said Rituparna Sengupta.
The lead actor, Purnima said, “After a long wait, I am finally going to star in a film with a beautiful story. I am really glad that I am going to act as the lead actress in a film under the production house of Manna.”
“Earlier, I worked in ‘Shami Istrir Juddho’, ‘Moner Shathey Juddho’ and ‘Pita Matar Amanot’ under this production house. This will be my fourth venture with them. I have a unique connection of love and respect with this production house. I think this film will be an amazing experience for me as well,” she added.
