The Kamal-Momtaz Memorial Trust has imparted scholarship to six talented meritorious students studying at Sher-e-Bangla Agricultural University (SAU). Education minister Dr Dipu Moni officially handed over the scholarship cheques to the students on 26 February.
The programme was organized under the chairmanship of the university’s Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr Kamal Uddin Ahmed where Education Minister Dr Dipu Moni was the chief guest. Bangladesh Awami League’s Organizing Secretary Krishibid A F M Bahauddin Nasim, University Vice-Chancellor Dr Sekender Ali, Treasurer Professor Dr Anwarul Huq Beg and eminent Agricultural Scientist Abdul Karim attended the programme.
The chief patron of the trust Nilufar Ahmed Karim and Professor Dr Md Mizanur Rahman delivered the welcome speeches.
Dipu Moni thanked the patrons of Kamal-Momtaz memorial trust for such activities and she expects that the students who received scholarships can reflect the expectation of the nation.
The students who were awarded with the scholarships are Mohammad Solaiman Hossain, Md Khalil, Puja Sarkar, Syeda Kamrun Nahar, Samia Chowdhury and Imran Hossain.
Sponsor Nilufar Ahmed Karim said that those to whom we gave the scholarships, they should be able to utilize it properly and achieve prosperity through education. So that they don’t need to earn money through any other means and their responsibility is to just focus on their studies and make every one of us proud. We want all of them to be established in the future.
Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr Kamal Uddin Ahmed said, “We are proud and delighted to provide scholarships to the meritorious students. With such a support, the students’ morale will be boosted and after the end of their education, they will be able to make the country and the nation proud with their achievements”.
He thanked the patrons for providing such scholarships to the university.
