Inspired by the historical Mughal Empire, Sultan’s Dine has been set up in the capital as a fine dining restaurant that serves culinary delights like traditional kacchi biryani, morog polao, kabab, curry, borhani, firni and many more.
Dhaka is a kacchi-crazed city, and Sultan’s Dine is such a family restaurant which is specifically intended to satiate biriyani lovers. Tucked along Satmasjid Road, Dhanmondi on the 1st floor of Green Akshay Plaza, this 90 to 100 seatery restaurant’s ample space and cleanliness provides the customers with good environment to enjoy their meal. The decoration, furniture, tableware, and even the lighting — all contribute to a great appetizing experience.
Established in 2017, the newbie has created a good name. Sultan’s Dine took an oath to themselves to bring in quality dish at an affordable price but also keeping a tab on the health of the customers by ensuring that none of the dishes are greasy and at the same time does compromise on taste.
This place has got some real feast for Mughlai cuisine lovers. Kacchi Biryani is obviously the stellar dish of this restaurant. You will find flavoured basmati rice cooked with succulent pieces of mutton and potato wrapped in a perfect blend of aromatic spices and herbs. Apart from the tender meat and moist spicy rice, the buttery potato in it also tastes awesome. The price is ranged at BDT 399 for a single person to BDT 2550 for five persons accompanied with condiments.
Their special Kacchi Platter for 1/3/5 persons (BDT 629/1779/2989) consists of kacchi, chicken roast, jali kabab, beef rezala, borhani, jorda/firni, chutney and salad. It’s similar to what we call Biye Barir Khawar (foods served at weddings).
Another best seller being the Plain Polao Platter is also for 1/3/5 person (BDT 570/1650/2699) consists of chicken roast, beef rezala, borhani, jorda/firni, chutney and salad.
From all of the above sides the Chicken Roast (BDT 130) and Beef Rezala (BDT 180) is a must-have-one. These are yet another Mughlai dishes with creamy rich flavour that comes from yogurt, ghee, onion and some nutty ingredients. Juicy inside, the dishes are served with liquid gold gravy.
Not only these, their add-ons include some lip smacking dishes like Chicken Tandoori (BDT 130), Mutton Rezala (BDT 220), Zafrani Sarbat (BDT 150-300). Nevertheless, the proportion of the food is amazing. A meal for one can be shared among two persons easily.
