Primary Teachers’ Institute (PTI) in Jhenidah and its superintendent Atiar Rahman have respectively been selected as the best training institute and best superintendent in Khulna division for the year 2018.
The decision was taken by divisional primary education office in Khulna, said its divisional deputy director Meherun Nessa in a letter sent to the institute.
Jhenidah PTI superintendent Atiar Rahman said, “The number of trainees in our 18-month long diploma course in education was 88 in 2015 when i joined here. The number rose to 240 in 2018.”
The number of students in experimental school was 175 in the joining time that increased to 487 in 2018. The standard of the experimental school is satisfactory where the minor students have been performing better in the examination, the superintendent said. Atiar Rahman has written a number of books including ‘Bangladesher Prathamik Sikkha, Kichu Prasangik Bhabna’.
‘Muktijuddho O Bangabandhu Bishayak Corner’ at Jhenidah PTI depicts the glory of historical background since the language movement of 1952 and blood earned freedom fighting of 1971.
The superintendent said he had established a lucrative children park and a wifi zone for better information and communication technology.
