A delegation of Jatiya Party, the main opposition in parliament, led by their chairman HM Ershad, will sit for talks with the delegation of ruling alliance, led by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina at Ganobhaban this evening, party insiders said.
JP lawmaker Ziauddin Ahmed (Bablu) told Bangladesh Post, “Insallah, we are going to Ganobhaban tomorrow (Monday) to hold dialogue with the Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.” He expressed hope that a fruitful dialogue will be taken place. Earlier, Prime Minister and Awami League President Sheikh Hasina invited the opposition party to join talks with her party.
Ershad’s deputy press secretary Delwar Jalali said a 20-member Jatiya Party delegation, led by its chairman, will take part in the discussion with the Prime Minister.
Earlier, Ershad said his party would take part in the scheduled dialogue with the ruling party without any specific condition and demand on the agenda.
“We’ll just ask them how many seats they’ll give us in the next parliamentary elections and will come out if they fail to satisfy us,” Ershad added.
