The Office of Career Guidance and Placement (CGP) at Independent University, Bangladesh (IUB) organized a Presentation titled ‘Employability skills in the era of 4th Industrial Revolution’ on last Monday at IUB campus in Bashundhara, Dhaka. Mominul Islam, Managing Director and CEO of IPDC Finance Ltd was the presenter at the event.
Mominul Islam underscored that physical, biological and digital world are all coming together in the 4th Industrial Revolution. He spoke about the forces, which will ultimately change the employability skills such as – machine learning, digitalization, artificial intelligence, big data, internet of things, NANO technology, block chain, neuro science, biotechnology etc. As regards, the implication of 4th industrial revolution and employability skills in Bangladesh, he identified a good number of professions have become extinct by now and we have to have a global perspective to face the situation coming towards the new generation very fast.
The program started with welcome address given by Prof. M. Omar Rahman, Vice Chancellor, IUB. Among others, Rashed Chowdhury, former Chairman of the Board of Trustees, IUB, and Syed Mahmudul Huq, Member, BOT also spoke. Md Abdullah Iqbal, Deputy Director, Career Guidance and Placement, IUB delivered his welcome speech.
The presentation was followed by a question-answer session participated by the Trustees of the university, senior members of the faculty and management and students.
