A two-day long international conference will start today at the International Conference Hall of Bangladesh University of Business and Technology (BUBT) at its permanent campus in Rupnagar, Mirpur-2, Dhaka.
BUBT has organised this conference for the second time whose theme is ‘Sustainable Development Through Cross-border Co-operation’. A number of highly reputed researchers and professors from different countries will attend the programme. The conference patron is Professor Dr Shafique Ahmed Siddique, Chairman, BUBT. Professor Abdul Mannan, Chairman, University Grants Commission of Bangladesh (UGC), will be present as the chief guest of the inaugural session of the conference while Professor Md Abu Saleh, Vice Chancellor, BUBT will be present as the session chair.
Professor Dr Partha S Ghosh, senior fellow, Institute of Social Sciences, New Delhi, will deliver the keynote speech. Professor Santi N Ghosh, Director, BUBT Research Centre and conference chair will deliver the welcome speech and Professor Dr Syed Masud Husain, Dean, Faculty of Business, BUBT and conference co-chair will give a vote of thanks.
A set of 7 technical sessions on Business, Economics and Information Technology (IT) will be held during the conference. The chair of different sessions will include Professor Dr A B Mirza Azizul Islam, Advisor, former Caretaker Government of Bangladesh; Professor Dr Mustafizur Rahman, Distinguished Fellow, Centre for Policy Dialogue (CPD); Professor Dr Lee Di Milia, Dean, School of Business and Law, Central Queensland University, Australia; Professor Dr Ghaleb A El Refae, President, Al Ain University of Science and Technology, UAE; Professor Dr Paul Zeleza, Vice Chancellor, United States International University-Africa, Kenya and other dignitaries.
