A 20-member council of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Bangladesh (ICAB) has been elected on Saturday.
The council is the highest authority of the ICAB which leads the institute and the profession.
Total 18 councilors from Dhaka constituency and two from Chittagong constituency were elected to form the council for the tenure 2019-2021, said a press release.
The elected council members are Mohammed Humayun Kabir, Adeeb Hossain Khan, Kamrul Abedin, Sabbir Ahmed, Akhtar Sohel Kasem, Mohammed Forkan Uddin, Muhammad Farooq, Md Shahadat Hossain, A F Nesaruddin, Nasir Uddin Ahmed, Maria Howlader, Md. Abdul Kader Joadder, Mahmudul Hasan Khusru, Gopal Chandra Ghosh, Noor-E-Khoda Abdul Mobin, Md. Moniruzzaman, Dr. Md. Abu Sayed Khan, Mahamud Hosain from Dhaka constituency and Sidhartha Barua and Md Salim Uddin FCA from Chittagong constituency.
Besides, nine members of Dhaka Regional Committee (DRC) and five members of the Chittagong Regional Committee (CRC), ICAB were elected uncontested.
Elected members of DRCare Miltan Bepari, A.H.M. Ariful Islam, Md Abu Khair Hasanul Hasif Sowdagar, Ziaur Rahman Zia, Md Amran Hossan, Mohammad Redwanur Rahman, Anika Sultana, Md Razib Hossain and Md Selim Reza. Members of CRC are Subash Chandra Chowdhury, Imran Abu Hasan, Kamrul Islam, Mohammed Abul Kashem and Mohammad Shaheed. The members of the institute cast votes amid huge enthusiasm.
