Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has given us ministerial responsibility to work for the development of the country. I have to perform that responsibility. I am not proud of being a minister.
Education minister Dr Dipu Moni came up with the revelation while talking to media during exchanging greetings with the common people of different unions of her electoral constituency on Friday.
Addressing leaders and activists of Awami League, the newly appointed minister said, “No one will do any such work as a result of excessive enthusiasm so that the government’s image gets tarnished. All have to work united to continue the development of the country.”
She warned of strict action if extra fees are taken from the students during admission at educational institutions. She said, “Taking extra fee for the admission is totally illegal.”
She hoped that the educational institutions would follow the rules during admission of students and other examinations.
Dipu Moni, also joint general secretary of Awami League, said a massive development has taken place in the country’s education sector during last 10 years.
Besides, she said, the government will take every necessary step to improve the sector.
The education minister sought cooperation from all in this regard.
