The ‘Hajir Biryani’ from the upcoming movie ‘Dahan’ has been issued a notice by Bangladesh Cholochitra Censor Board. The board’s secretary Muhammad Ali Sarkar has issued the notice on behalf of the board on November 4.
In the letter it is stated that, ‘Dahan’ has released the song ‘Hajir Byriani’ in You Tube before receiving clearance from the censor board. The song contains strong language which has not been censored.
In accordance to the letter, the censor board has also instructed Jazz Multimedia to explain why any kind of legal action should not be taken against them for the use of a non-censored song, within three working days of receiving the letter.
In the meantime, last Thursday a delegation of musicians consisting of awarding-winning singers, lyricists and music producers had met with the State Minister of Information Tarana Halim. They stated that, these type of songs must be completely banned from Bangla cinema and hoped that the song ‘Hajir Biryani’ does not get any kind of clearance from the censor board.
The delegation delivered a protestation to the State Minister which have been signed by renowned musicians such as, Sabina Yasmin, Andrew Kishore, Kanak Chapa, Fuad Naser Babu, Kumar Bishwajit, Fahmida Nabi, Bappa Mazumder and many others.
The lyrics of the song has been written by Priyo Chatterjee from Kolkata. The song has been sung and produced by Akassh Sen who has also worked in movies like ‘Agnee-2’, ‘Pora Mon-2’, ‘Nabab’, ‘Most Welcome-2’ and ‘Nishwartha Bhalobasa’.
