Secretary of the ministry of Expatriate Welfare and Overseas Employment Dr. Namita Halder on Monday said that the government officers and employees have to work as the servant of the people.
She said this while addressing a programme as the chief guest marking National Public Service Day 2018 held at the Expatriate Welfare Building in Dhaka.
Speaking at the occasion, the Secretary Dr. Namita Halder said, “We (government employees) have to be the servant of the people. We have to serve the people as their servant. Everybody has to work using their own judgment.”
The secretary also urged the officers and employees of the ministry to prepare action plan and work on that to acquire the goals of the establishment of this ministry.
She also congratulated the Bangladesh’s ambassador to Greece Md Jasim for wining Public Administration Award-2018.
Presided over by Additional Secretary (Admin and Finance) of the ministry Md Aminul Islam, Dr Ahmed Munirus Salehin addressed the programme while Joint
Secretary of the ministry Md Sujayet Ullah and deputy secretary Mohammad Sahin addressed on their work experience.
Deputy Secretaries of the ministry Dr Kazi Kamrun nahar and Dr Masuma Parvin presented a power-point presentation on the Public Service Day.
Director General of Wage Earners Welfare Board Gazi Mohammad Julhas, Bangladesh’s ambassador to Greece Md Jasim Uddin and Executive Director of BOELS Yamin Akbari addressed the programme as the special guests among others.
