The present government has achieved incredible success in increasing power generation capacity to become self-reliant on electricity soon and reach power to every house.
Member of Parliament from Dinajpur-6 constituency Shibli Sadique said this while switching on newly built power supply lines
for 340 families of five villages
under Ghoraghat upazila in
Dinajpur on Saturday as the chief guest, reports BSS.
With the switching of the power supply lines, all residential houses, commercial and business establishments of Sahebganj, Mitali Cluster Village, Zamilapur, Majarpara and Islampur Kumoria villages came under power supply network.
Dinajpur Polli Bidyut Samity-2 of Rural Electrification Board has (REB) implemented construction works of the power supply lines to fulfill another long-cherished demand of local people.
A colourful ceremony was arranged on the occasion at Sahebganj village with Assistant General Manager of Raniganj Zone of Dinajpur Polli Bidyut Samity-2 Engineer Mizanur Rahman in
the chair.
General Secretary of Ghoraghat upazila Awami League Abdur Rafa Khondker Shahanshah, officials, hundreds of men, women, youths, students, farmers and civil society members were present.
Congratulating the local people, the chief guest suggested the authorities, officials and employees concerned to ensure excellent management in uninterrupted power supply to make best use of electricity and reduce system loss to the zero level.
“Bangladesh will achieve its complete self-reliance on electricity very soon to bring every house under power supply facilities,” he said and called upon villagers for sincerely using power to save the national resource of electricity.
