The body of a 10-year old schoolboy was recovered from an abandoned house at Biddi village under Panchbibi Upazila in Joypurhat. Police recovered the body on Friday night.
The deceased was identified as Abdur Rahman, son of Rezaul Karim of Dhurail village in the upazila. He was a fourth grader at a local primary school.
Bazlar Rahman, officer-in-charge of Panchbibi Police Station, said that Abdur Rahman went out of their house with his bicycle on Friday noon and did not return home till evening. His family members looked for him frantically. Later, they found Rahman’s body. The body was sent to Joypurhat Modern Government Hospital for autopsy.
The OC said that the miscreants slashed throat of the schoolboy. Five boys were taken to the police station for interrogation.
“Our family members had no enmity with anyone. We demand justice why Abdur Rahman was brutally murdered,” said cousin of the deceased Rusel Ahmed.
