At least five passengers went missing after a trawler sank in the Shitalakkhya River at Modonganj area on Sunday night. The trawler capsized after it collided with a launch.
The missing passengers are Osman Goni, 40, Sujon, 20, Imon, 20, Imran, 22, and Din Islam, 30.
The divers of fire service and civil defense of Narayanganj station have been conducting rescue drive since the accident, but none was rescued till Monday afternoon.
Station master of fire service Arifur Rahman said that thirteen divers were continuing the searching.
A trawler loaded with 100-150 passengers were going to Modonganj from Narayanganj central ferry ghat on Sunday night. It collided with the launch and sank.
Most of the passengers of the trawler were able to ashore while five passengers were unable to swim to shore.
