Freedom fighters, veteran sons of the soil, will hold a rally in the city’s Shahbagh intersection tomorrow, to seek vote in favour of the pro-liberation forces in the upcoming parliamentary polls scheduled for December 30.
Under the banner of Samillito Muktijoddha Sangsad, the highly-respected sons, who took part in a violent struggle to make Bangladesh an independent country, will place the true history of country’s war of independence before the nation.
“We want to uphold the true story of war independence before especially to new generation. We do believe the new generation will be inspired if the true history is presented before them,” Shipping Minister Shahjahan Khan, convener of ‘Samillito Muktijoddha Sangsad’ said on Thursday.
He came up with this statement while addressing a press conference held at Dhaka Reporters’ Unity in the city. The minister said, forming Oikyafront, some Freedom fighters have joined hands with the anti-liberation forces who killed the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, are trying to come to the power illegally. If they come to power, they will turn the country into a terrorist empire.
He said politics without ideology cannot bring the welfare for the nation. During the period of BNP, It has been proved that the country and country’s people were not safe in their hands.
He also said after coming to the power, General Ziaur Rahman killed several freedom fighters publicly and secretly.
Besides, he also tried to destroy the spirit of Liberation War. He conspired to change the name of the country to ‘Banglasthan’ from Bangladesh.
Shahjahan Khan said Zia wanted to run the country with Pakistani ideology. But history does not forgive anyone, which now Khaleda Zia and Tarek Zia are suffering.
The Minister said BNP and Jammat have got addicted to killing people. They are trying to come to the power through conspiracy.
He urged all people of the country to stand up against the anti-liberation forces and to eliminate the militancy across the country.
