IPDC Finance Limited in association with Bangladesh Supply Chain Management Society (BSCMS) recently organised Bangladesh Supply Chain Excellence Award (BSCEA) 2018 at International Convention City Bashundhara (ICCB).
BSCEA 2018, one of its kind recognises outstanding individual and organizational contribution in advancing supply chain knowledge and practices across the industries that operate in Bangladesh.
It is the first-ever initiative in Bangladesh to recognize and celebrate the excellence in supply chain management, said a press release.
Awards have been given in seven different categories. Nestle and BSRM received the award as global and local organizations respectively. Mushfeq ur Rahim from Nestle Bangladesh won the award as individual in ‘Excellence in Supply Chain Relationship Management’ category; BATB won in ‘Excellence in Supply Chain Talent Development’ category, while Nestle was recognised as Special Mention in the same category.
Khan Mohd. Ibrahim from American & Efird (Bangladesh) Ltd won the individual award and Tarasima Apparels Ltd as organisation in ‘Excellence in Manufacturing’ category, Aarong & CP won as local and multinational organizations respectively in ‘Excellence in Supply Chain Finance’ category.
Abdul Alim from International Beverage Private Limited (IBPL) and Tareq Ali Khan from Nestle Bangladesh won the individual award and PHP Family & Berger Paints Bangladesh Limited recognized as the local and multinational organization respectively in ‘Excellence in Logistics Management’ category.
Besides, Ms. Alina Mazumdar from Unilever was recognised as an individual under Special Mentions. BSRM and BATB were recognised as organisation under Special Mention in the same category.
In addition, Abu Hossain Khan, the institutor of A H Khan & Co received Honourable Mention for his commendable journey towards the unbound rise of Supply Chain excellence in the country.
This year’s ‘Young Supply Chain Talent of the year’ was won by Sayed Mohammad Moinuddin Morshedul Alam from BSRM as well as Sajib Dutta from BSRM as Special Mention.
‘Supply Chain Professional of the year’ award was won by Md. Shakhawat Hossain as individual from local organization DBL and Mahmud Hasan Khan as individual from multinational organization Avery Dennison.
Mohammad Imtiaz Uddin Chowdhury from BSRM and Md. Kamrul Islam from Rahimafrooz were recognised as Special Mention from local organisation while Habibur Rahman from Marico Bangladesh Ltd and Raquibul Alam from Berger got Special Mention awards from multinational organisation.
Awardees have been recognised on the basis of their high impact contribution during 2017 in various areas of supply chain management. An independent and experienced jury panel including Prof. Imran Rahman, Special Advisor to Board of Trustees, University of Liberal Arts; Rupali Chowdhury, Managing Director, Berger Paints BD Ltd; Sanjeev Kumar Yadav, Supply Chain Director, Nestle Bangladesh Ltd and S M Khaled, Program Manager, Regional Operations, British American Tobacco, Bangladesh executed the winner selection process.
Kazi M. Aminul Isam, Executive Chairman, Bangladesh Investment Development Authority (BIDA) was present at the event as the chief guest. Mahbubul Anam, President at Bangladesh Freight Forwarders Association was the special guest.
Mominul Islam, Managing Director and CEO of IPDC Finance Limited, Rizwan Dawood Shams, Deputy Managing Director, IPDC Finance Limited with other high officials, Naquib Khan, Director of Corporate affairs of Nestle Bangladesh Limited and President of Bangladesh Supply Chain Management Society; Ejazur Rahman, CEO-Asia, International Supply Chain Education Alliance (ISCEA) and Brig Gen Shahedul Anam Khan NDC, PSC (RETD) Associate Editor, The Daily Star were present at the award ceremony.

I hope this ceremony will work as an inspiration to create a positive impact across the industries of Bangladesh and achieve our vision of Middle Income Country by 2021 and Developed Country by 2041.”
Naquib Khan, Corporate Affairs Director and President of Bangladesh Supply Chain Management Society (BSCMS) said, “Bangladesh Supply Chain Excellence Award 2018 is certainly a big step forward to recognize the works that help to progress Supply Chain Knowledge and practices in all the industries of Bangladesh. Hopefully, it will motivate the youth of this country to take the supply chain management sector forward in coming days.”
