Working with Women-II project under SNV Netherlands Development Organisation, Bangladesh has arranged a seminar in Dhaka on the occasion of the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women.
The seminar on ‘End Gender-Based Violence in the World of Work’ was held at the National Press Club on Monday.
The speakers of the seminar stressed on taking initiatives to prevent violence against the women in the working places, particularly in the RMG factories.
Working with Women-II is funded by the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands. The project was taken with the aim of improving the health and wellbeing of garment workers in Bangladesh through Inclusive Business practices across the RMG value chain.
The International Day for
the Elimination of Violence
against Women was observed on November 25.
Like SNV Netherlands Development Organisation, many other platforms observed the day by holding various programmes. Many of the platforms launched a 16-day programme on the occasion of the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women and the ‘16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence’ campaign.
The campaign began on November 25, the day of International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women, with the theme ‘Orange the World: #HearMeToo’. The icampaign will end on December 10, the day of International Human Rights Day.
