The Election Commission has decided to withdraw Khulna Metropolitan Police (KMP) Commissioner Md Humayun Kabir, on account of various complaints before the upcoming 11th general election, report agencies.
The KMP commissioner’s name was mentioned in the list of “non-professional” leaders submitted by Jatiya Oikya Front to the commission.
According to Election Commission sources, a commissioner proposed to withdraw the KMP commissioner in a commission meeting, after several complaints were filed against Humayun Kabir’s “non-professional” role during the Khulna City Corporation election.
Based on the proposal, the Election Commission later approved an application regarding Humayun’s withdrawal.
Election Commission officials will soon provide instructions to the Home Ministry concerning the transfer of the KMP commissioner to another post.
