Rangpur Riders and Dhaka Dynamites earned comprehensive victory in their respective Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) matches at the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium in Mirpur on Tuesday.
In the first match of the day, Shakib Al Hasan’s Dhaka Dynamites defeated Khulna Titans by 105 runs. In the second match of the day, Mashrafe Bin Mortaza’s Rangpur Riders blew away Comilla Victorians by 9 wickets.
Mashrafe was pivotal as Comilla Victorians were dismissed cheaply for 63 runs against Rangpur Riders in their second clash of BPL. Masrhafe Bin Mortaza, the captain of Rangpur, took his first four-wicket haul in the BPL, by giving away only 11 runs in his 4 over spell. Comilla’s 63 is their lowest first-innings total and fourth lowest first-innings total in the history of BPL. Rangpur won the toss earlier and skipper Mashrafe opted to field first. Comilla were struggling from the start of their innings as they lost five wickets for just 18 runs. Shafiul Islam and Nazmul Islam Apu followed Mashrafe in a perfect manner as they bagged two wickets each. Shahid Afridi, the Pakistani super-star, was the only batsman to touch a two-digit score for Comilla. He scored 25 of 18 balls with 3 fours and one maximum to his name.
Chasing a low score of 64, Rangpur’s approach was slow. They lost danger man Chris Gayle in the second over, leaving Riders at 14/1 after 2.2 overs. However, from there star of last match Rilee Rossouw and batsman Mehedi Maruf sensible batting ensured Rangpurs comprehensive victory by 9 wickets. Maruf and Rossouw were unbeaten at 36* and 20* respectively. Riders won the match with 48 balls to spare.

Meanwhile, Dhaka Dynamites recorded their second successive victory in the BPL when they blew Khulna Titans away by 105 runs in the first clash. Chasing a mammoth target of 193 runs, Khulna Titans found the chase stiff and eventually dismissed at a paltry total of 87 in 13 overs.
It was a massive win for Dhaka Dynamites which will only boost their net run-rate. The victory was set up by their batsmen who recorded the highest total of this season.
Khulna Titans were on the back foot from beginning and they could not fight back in the match as they lost wickets in regular intervals.
Opener Junaid Siddique (31), the top scorer of Khulna’s innings. Dynamites skipper Shakib Al Hasan was the pick of Dhaka’s bowler taking three Khulna’s wickets conceding 18 runs. Hazratullah Zazai of Dhaka Dynamites was named the player of the match for his impressive batting performance. The Afghan opener blasted 36-ball off 57 runs saw Dhaka Dynamites amassed a massive total of 192 for 6 from their allotted 20 overs after they were forced to bat first by Khulna Titans.
