The elections of Dhaka University Teachers Association (DUTA) will be held today (Tuesday). The voting will take at the DU Teachers’ Club from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm.
Awami League backed Blue Panel and BNP-Jamaat backed White Panel fielded their candidates in the polls. Left-leaning teachers Pink Panel did not field any candidate under the banner of their panel.
Some 30 candidates of the two panels are vying for 15 posts.

Election Commissioner and Chemistry Department teacher Prof Dr Tofayel Ahmed Chowdhury on Monday said that all the preparations have been completed to hold the polls.
Incumbent president Prof Dr ASM Maksud Kamal, Dean of Faculty of Earth and Environmental Science, is vying for the president post again from the Blue Panel, while Dr. Md. Akhter Hossain Khan of Soil, Water & Environment department from White Panel.
On the other hand, Prof Shibli Rubayat Ul Islam, Dean of Business faculty, and Prof Dr Lutfor Rahman of Statistics are vying for general secretary
post from Blue and White Panels respectively.
