An alleged drug businessman was injured in reported a gun fight
with law enforcers at Godagari upazila of Rajshahi in the early hours on Monday.
The injured was identified as Abdul Matin, 30, son of Amir of Baliadying village under Deopara union of the upazila. He is accused in 10 drug-related cases.
Senior assistant superintendent of district police Abdur Razzak confirmed the matter. He said that a team of police conducted an anti-drug drive at Baliadying village at about 3:00 am. Sensing presence of police, a gang of drug traders opened fired, prompting police to fire back that triggered the gunfight.
During the fight, Motin caught
in the line of fire, leaving him
injured while others managed
to escape the scene. Later, he was taken to Rajshahi Medical College Hospital..
Police recovered 200gm of heroine, four machetes and cash money from the spot.
