Blankets were distributed among the cold-hit students of ten Hafizia madrasas and local distressed people of Sataria upazila in Manikganj district on Saturday.
The blankets were given on behalf of Sheikh Nazmul Alam BPM (Bar), PPM (Bar), Joint Commissioner (Crime) of Dhaka Metropolitan Police to mitigate the miseries from the sweeping cold wave. Md. Aminul Islam, Officer-in-Charge of Saturia PS distributed
the blankets on Bachot-Baitala Mokdampara Hafizia Madrasa and orphanage premises in a simple
ceremony.
Abdur Rashid Bsc, President of Bachot-Boiltola Mokadampara Hafizia Madrasa and Orphanage presided over the meeting, where it’s secretary and senior staff reporter of Bangladesh Post Habibullah Mizan, chairman of Saturia union parishad Anwar Hossain Pintu, Manikganj district correspondent of The Independent Khandaker Ashraf-Un-Nabi, organizing secretary of Saturia Union Awami League Belal Hossain, Saturia upazila correspondent of The Asian Age Engineer Lutfar Rahman and Daily Pratati Khabar Saturia correspondent Abu Bakar Siddique as well as local elites were present during the distribution programme.
Mohamed Hafiz Maulana Mufti Zainal Abedin started the program through holy Quran recitation, while Aminul Islam, Joint General Secretary of the Madrasa was conducted the event.
Speakers at the blanket distribution event urged the affluent to come forward and help the distressed people, especially the orphan children who are the worst victims of the cold wave now sweeping over the country.
They expressed their happiness for this support by DMP’s joint commissioner Sheikh Nazmul Alam and said expanding such initiatives can be of great help to many deprived people.
