Rangamati district administration handed over the documents of a piece of land for construction of Rangamati Cantonment Public School and College to the Rangamati cantonment on Monday. Deputy Commissioner of Rangamati, AKM Mamunur Rashid, formally handed over documents of 13 acres of land to Rangamati region commander Syed Mehmud Riyad at his conference room. At the event, Riyad expressed his optimism that the construction works of the school will start as early as possible.
He said, “Once it was a longtime demand of the people of Rangamati and now it is no longer a demand. It is going to be fulfilled and this will be a big achievement for all the stakeholders.”

He further said that all learners can avail the opportunity for study up to college level with all modern facilities in the cantonment public school and college. The school will be constructed adjacent to Rangamati television sub-centre in the town.
“We took several initiatives earlier, but it was not getting progress due to some difficulties. But now the issue of land for the school is settled and obviously it is a big step forward from our side,” added the region commander.
