An elderly man was killed as he came under wild elephants’ attack at Mohammadpur area under Bairag union of Anwara upazila in Chattogram on Friday.
The deceased was identified Abdur Rahman, 70. He was on the way to mosque to perform Fajr prayer at dawn. He was killed by wild elephants at that time.
Dulal Hossain, officer-in-charge of Anowara Police Station, confirmed the matter.
Some wild elephants took shelter on Deyang hill of Anwara Upazila, as they came from Banshkhali upazila.
They are causing damage. The elephants should be taken away as soon as possible by authority of
Forest Department. Otherwise,
there would be more damage, UP member said.
