Awami League’s Publicity and Publication Secretary Dr Hasan Mahmud has urged the BNP not to go away from the election race from the midway. He said that the ruling Awami League would prove that the people are with Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and they will stay with her in the coming days.
Hasan Mahmud, also a former minister, said these while speaking at discussion at the National Press Club on Saturday. Bangabandhu Sangskritik Jote arranged the event marking the 14th death anniversary of journalist Tridiv Dastidar.
Cultural personality Syed Hasan Imam presided over the discussion, while Dhaka City South AL General Secretary Shah-e Alam Murad, Joint Secretary General Kamal Chowdhury and General Secretary of Bangabandhu Sangskritik Jote Arun Sarker Rana also spoke it, among others.
Hasan Mahmud said people of the country like Awami League. “I would request the BNP not to run away from the election race. We will prove through the elections that the countrymen are with Sheikh Hasina and the pro-liberation force,” he said.
Replying to the statement of BNP standing committee member Barrister Moudud Ahmed that Awami League wants to flee from the elections, the AL leader said that actually the BNP leaders have realized that the election field is not in favor of them. “Now the question is if BNP wants to flee from the elections as the field is not in its favor,” he added.
