Eminent Bangladeshi music director and composer Alauddin Ali was awarded by Citibank, N.A. Bangladesh at its annual event ‘Gaane Gaane Gunijon Shongbordhona’ held at the Radisson hotel in the capital recently.
Citibank’s country officer (Bangladesh) N Rajashekaran, renowned artist Mustafa Monwar and eminent writer Prof Abdullah Abu Sayeed handed over the crest and cheque to Alauddin Ali at the ceremony. Alauddin Ali was honoured for his outstanding contribution to enriching the cultural heritage of Bangladesh.
Since the first ‘Gaane Gaane Gunijon Songbordhona’ in 2004, Citi has honored several leading musicians, including Nilufar Yasmin, Farida Parveen, Feroza Begum, Sanjida Khatun, Sohrab Hossain, Ferdousi Rahman, Sabina Yasmin, Rezwana Choudhury Bannya, Subir Nandi, Shahnaz Rahmatullah, Syed Abdul Hadi, Mitali Mukherjee, Runa Laila and Ferdous Wahid for their outstanding contributions to Bengali music and culture.
