A visiting team of Qujing Normal University of China has held a meeting with Vice-Chancellor of Dhaka University Prof Dr. Md. Akhtaruzzaman and expressed their interest to strengthen collaborative programs with the leading university of Bangladesh.
The five-member delegation of the Chinese university led by Prof Dr. Wu Yuliang called on DU VC Prof Dr. Md. Akhtaruzzaman at the latter’s office on Tuesday. They expressed their interest in the meeting.
Chairperson of DU’s Linguistics department Prof Dr. Salma Nasrin and Prof Dr. Syed Shahrier Rahman of the department were also present at the time.
During the meeting, the Chinese delegation and the DU VC discussed various issues including the possibilities of undertaking joint collaborative academic programmes and signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between Dhaka University and Qujing Normal University. Possibility of exchange of teachers and students between the two universities was also discussed in the meeting.
Prof Dr. Wu Yuliang apprised DU VC of academic programs and history of Qujing Normal University. He told DU VC that Qujing Normal University has Bengali Department and his university wants to strengthen collaborative programs with DU especially with the departments of Bengali and Linguistics.
Prof Akhtaruzzaman assured the Chinese delegates of providing all possible help and cooperation in this regard.
