A case has been filed over the
killing of one Rashed Miya (35), a businessman, who was hacked
to death at Madhabpur upazila
in the district on November
29 by a group of unidentified miscreants.
Rashed’s wife Nazma Begum filed the murder case with Madhabpur police station on Tuesday night against unnamed persons, five days after the incident.
Madhabpur PS officer-in-charge Chandan Kumar Chakrabarty said, “Police is active to arrest the killers.”
Sources said Rashed was a stationery businessman from Shyamolipara area at Madhabpur. He used to live in a rented house at Shyamolipara.
Like every day, he was returning home with his brother-in-law Jibon Mia (15), after closing his shop in the local bazar.
“No sooner he reached in front of his home; a group of unidentified miscreants hacked him brutally and left the place leaving him lying on the ground. A critically injured rashed was rushed to Habiganj Sadar Hospital where on duty doctors after primary treatment referred him to Dhaka Medical College and Hospital,” sources added.
They said Rashed succumbed to his injuries on Saturday while undergoing treatment at DMCH, they added.
