Revenue earning of the Bangladesh Road Transport Authority (BRTA) has exceeded target in Magura in 2017-18 fiscal.
Sources said that Magura BRTA has earned Tk 70 million revenue, where the target was Tk 30 million
Moreover revenue earning is increasing in Magura every year. In 2013-14 fiscal year, the revenue earning was 3.5 core while 4.2 core in 2014-15 fiscal year , 4.5 crore in 2015-16 , 5.5 core in 2016-17 and finally 7 core in 2017-18 fiscal year.
The revenue earning in Magura has increased by two times within 5 years.
At the same time, registration number of vehicles has exceeded target in 2017-18 fiscal year. The registration target in the office in 2017-2018 fiscal year was 3500. But the number has stood at 3570 overflowing the target.
Rezaul Islam, a vehicle owner of Nanduali area under Magura town, said that this year he has taken registration of his motorbike.
“I have got my registration smoothly. Earlier brokers dominated the office. Clients had to manage broker to do anything in the office. But the office is now free from broker. Clients are getting proper service in the office. Consequently revenue earning in the office is increasing day by day,” he said.
Magura district chamber and commerce industry director Golam Rasul said that the revenue earning in Magura BRTA office has increased unexpectedly as clients in the office are getting service properly. “Immense rise in the revenue earning of the office is a positive signal to our economy. We can optimize from this rise that Bangladesh is going to be a mid income country within 2024,” he said.
Magura BRTA assistant director SM Mahafuzur Rahman said, “We are happy over revenue collection. Our revenue earning has exceeded target.
We are contemplating to discharge our duty fervently. This the only reason behind our success. Magura is a small district. So our revenue earning is over satisfactory compared to the population and economic status of the district.”
