BRAC Bank has received women’s market champion engagement award titled ‘The Engagement Award’ accorded to Global Banking Alliance (GBA) members who have participated most in the sharing of knowledge through GBA programmes and services in the past year.
This engagement is essential to the success of the GBA and contributes to the Women’s Market performance.
Selim R. F. Hussain, managing director & CEO, BRAC Bank, received the award at GBA Summit in Jordan recently. Mehruba Reza, senior product manager, Women Banking Segment TARA, and Shajed Al Haque, senior manager, Business Transformation, SME Banking, BRAC Bank were present at the ceremony.
Upon receiving this award, Hussain said, “We are honored to receive yet another award from Global Banking Alliance for Women. This accolade comes right after the heels of the last year’s (2017) Global Market Champion Award accorded to BRAC Bank in the GBA London Summit. This international recognition by GBA is another step forward for the bank on its journey to becoming the Best Bank and the most gender aware in Bangladesh”.
At the GBA Summit this year, BRAC Bank MD & CEO Selim R. F. Hussain took part in a panel discussion that highlighted company culture and women’s empowerment within the organisation.
BRAC Bank is the only member bank of GBA from Bangladesh. Founded in 2000 and headquartered in New York, the GBA works for knowledge sharing, capacity building and research for promotion of women’s banking across the globe.
