The ongoing Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) is suffering from lack of fans or spectators during the matches. This lack of fan following in the stadium is due to many reasons. One of them is the unusual timing of the start of matches. Therefore, BCB made changes in the start times for matches and the new timings will be effective from January 12.
In the sixth edition of the BPL, the first match of the day was starting at 12 noon and the second at 5:20 pm. BCB said in a press release on Thursday afternoon that the matches from Saturday will begin at 1:30 pm in the afternoon and the evening match at 6:30 pm. All the matches will now start one hour later than the previous timing.
However, Friday’s matches will start during previous timing. The first match will held at two o’clock in the afternoon, and the second will start in 7:00 pm.
Jalal Yunus, a member of the BPL Governing Council said, “The time for the start of the games have been changed so that the visitors can come to the field. It is difficult for somebody to come to the field during previous timings. Schools and colleges run during that time period. Because of which those who want to come in the stadium to watch the matches cannot come. Therefore, we decided to change the start of matches for one hour later. Hopefully, this decision will bring more visitors to the ground. “
