BNP has announced the final list of 206 candidates for the upcoming 11th national polls, except for Chandpur-1 (Chandpur-3) seats.
On Friday evening, BNP general secretary Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir announced the final list of candidates.
According to the announcement, Mosharraf Hossain would vie for the polls under ‘sheaf of paddy’ symbol from Chandpur-1 (Kachua) seat; Jalaluddin from Chandpur-2 (Matlab North-South), Mominul Haq from Chandpur-4 (Faridganj.
On the other hand, the list of united front and 20-party candidates will be announced on Saturday, said Mirza Fakhrul Islam. BNP nominee for Chandpur’s important constituency, Chandpur-3 (Sadar), was not declared, because in this constituency, there are several heavyweight candidates from both the Awami League and BNP.
They are BNP’s central executive committee committee’s Welfare Affairs Secretary and District BNP convenor Sheikh Farid Ahmed Manik, LDP central leader former MP Prof Abdullaah, the leader of the Nagrik Unity, Adv. Fazlul Huq Sarkar, Ganapurem District President Adv Salim Akbar.
Meanwhile, the final name of BNP candidate’s candidate for Chandpur-3 (Sadar-Haimchar) has not been announced, due to the overwhelming anger and anxiety among the supporters of Sheikh Farid Ahmed Manik.
Talking to many leaders and workers of the party, it is known that they will not accept any candidate other than the BNP in this important constituency.
