Commerce Minister Tofail Ahmed on Thursday said the BNP has to participate in the next general election to save their existence. They will attend the upcoming polls under the Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina government.
Not doing that if they came up with demonstrations like 2014, they will have to face a difficult situation. And they do not have the ability to deal with the situation, said he.
The Minister said this after attending a program ‘6th BAPA FoodPro International Expo commence’ at Bangabandhu International Conference Centre (BICC) in the capital in reply to a question by the journalists.
He said, we will be participated in the next general polls according to the Election Commission schedule. In my observation the Jatiya Oikya front will attend the polls and the mass rally of Jatiya Oikya front in Sylhet is the first step to participate in the polls.
He also said, if the Jatiya Oikya front wants to create discrepancies across the country through the public rally, the law enforcers will not permit to hold.
“The government will not met any kind of demand regarding the polls. If the parties don not wants to join in the election, the election will not stop,” said he hopping that the election will get support internationally like last general election.
He said, we are in the field to protect any kind of incidents like 2013 and 2014. Some splinter leader like Dr. Kamal Hossain wants to make nonsectarian Bangladesh with the help of Jammat-e-islam which will not be allowed.
In the 6th BAPA FoodPro International Expo commence, the Minister was the chief guest while Indian High Commissioner in Dhaka Harsh Vardhan Shringla and Canadian High Commissioner Benoit Préfontaine was present as special guest.
The Minister said we already passed two projects for the poor people across the country to skill in ITC sector. If the government is re-elected in the next election, the electricity supply in the country will be 100 percent within two years.
