BP Report
BNP has done a grave mistake by taking part in the 11th parliamentary election under the leadership of Dr Kamal Hossain, who neither has people’s acceptability nor voting experience.
BNP Vice-Chairman Major (Retd) Hafiz Uddin Ahmed made the comment while talking to Somoy TV on Monday. “As Dr Kamal has no connection with people, I don’t think going to the election under his leadership was a right decision. In fact, BNP has its own senor and capable leaders and we could go ahead with them.”
“There was no necessity of forging Oikyafront as it made no difference to polls results. We should have had belief in our own strength”, Hafiz mentioned.
As there is an ideological difference between BNP and it alliance partners, the massive poll defeat was inevitable, he continued.
It is very essential to have harmony in ideology before making an alliance among political parties, Hafiz also said.
In reality, Oikyafront was good for nothing, he said.
“At this moment BNP does not need any advice from anyone as it can alone wage movement to bring back democracy and people’s voting rights”, he added.
