Bangladesh have sailed into the final of the Saff U18 Women’s Championship 2018 beating Bhutan by 4-0.
The semi final match was played at Changlimithang Stadium in Thimphu on Friday evening.
The Bangladeshi girls will play against the Nepal in the final on 7 October.
There was fear about Bangladesh’s reaching the final as some of the senior members in the squad other than the U-16 troupe however are yet to get their full rhythm back as Sanjida has not scored a goal so far while Krishna netted one each in the two group matches. Choton mentioned Marzia who scored four in the first match.
Bangladesh girls couldn’t play their usual game during their 2-1 win over Nepal in their last group match. The U-15 national team defeated Bhutan 5-0 in the Saff U-15 Women’s Championship in August and as many 13 players are included in the current squad.
But the players were confident.
Skipper Mishrat Jahan Moushumi said before the match, “The preparation is almost done. We are only a step away from the final and we have to win tomorrow to secure the final spot. If we play our natural game we will be the winners.”
