Bangladesh U-19 team defeat to Pakistan by three wickets of the ACC U-19 Asia Cup 2018 in their group B match held on Monday at Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium in Chittagong. Bangladesh U19 won the toss and choose to bowl first.
Chasing a paltry winning target of 187 runs set by Pakistan, Bangladesh reached home making 191 for the loss of seven wickets in 47.2 overs.
Chasing a scalable target of 187, Bangladesh lost early wickets Tanzid Hasan but Bangladesh came back. Shamim Hossain top scored with 64 runs with 5 fours two six followed by Prantik Nawroz Nabil (58) and Sajid Hossain (21) for Bangladesh side. Muhammad Musa was the most successful bowler as he claimed three Bangladesh wickets conceding 24 runs.
Pakistan suffered early batting jolt as they slipped 6 for 184 and just 3 runs added Pakistan dismissed at a paltry total of 187 in 45.2 overs. Waqar Ahmad top scored with 67 runs followed by opener Saim Ayub (49) and Muhammad Junaid (24) as the host failed to stage a fight back losing wickets in regular intervals in the face of tight bowling display by the Bangladeshi bowlers. Rishad Hossain took 3 wickets for 53. Shoriful Islam took two wickets Mrittunjoy Chowdhury, Avishek Das and Rakibul Hasan were the pick one wicket each. Bangladesh had earlier begun their journey in the 2018 Under-19 Asia Cup on the wrong foot, falling to a six-wicket defeat in their Group B encounter with Sri Lanka. Bangladesh play Hong Kong in their final group match today. The Tigers have the same number of points (2) as Pakistan but trail them by net run-rate. The match kick off 9:30 PM(BST).
Earlier, Afghanistan recorded their second consecutive victory in the ACC U-19 Asia Cup when they beat Nepal by three wickets in their second group A match held on Monday at Bangladesh Krira Shikkha Prothisn ground no 4 in Savar.
