Bikalpa Dhara Bangladesh (BDB) President and Chairman of Juktofront Dr AQM Badruddoza Chowdhury sent a letter to President Abdul Hamid on Tuesday, seeking time for a dialogue about the upcoming 11th National Parliamentary election.

On the other hand, BDB Secretary Maj (retd) Abdul Mannan has sent a letter to Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) KM Nurul Huda urging him to sit with the party chair by November 9 for a discussion on various election related issues.

In the letter sent to the President at Bangabhaban, B Chowdhury said, “Jukto Front leaders are eager to discuss some important issues with you.”

He further added, “According to the constitution, the Election Commission is mainly responsible for holding the election…the Commission remains under the absolute control of President during the election. So, we want to discuss the Election Commission’s authority and responsibilities with you aiming to make the election process neutral.”

B Chowdhury also requested the President to decide upon a date for the talks by Wednesday as the time is very short.

In the letter sent to the CEC, Maj Mannan has urged the Commission to fix a date for discussion with a delegation led by Jukta Front by November 9.

BDB’s Organisational Secretary Barrister Omar Farroque delivered the letter to the Commission.
