Atiqul Islam, ruling Awami League-nominated mayoral candidate for Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) by-polls slated for today, passed busy times with leaders and workers at ward level on Wednesday.
He requested the leaders and workers to appoint his agent at every polling station and report to their respective poling centres as early as possible.
Atiqul Islam went to his Uttara Office from his house on the day and exchanged views with leaders and activists of different wards and enquired about the preparation of election. Then on noon, he attended a meeting with Awami League and its supporting leaders and activists about assigning polling agents.
Atiqul Islam has set-up a monitoring centre at House No 13 of Road No of 4 No Sector in capital’s Uttara area. He is expected to go to the monitoring centre and exchange his views with journalists.
Atiqul Islam is contesting the mayoral post from the ruling Awami League. He along with his family members will cast his vote at Nawab Habibullah Model School and College at Shahjalal Avenue at Uttara Sector 4 at 8:30 am Wednesday.
