One more victim among five of a same family died succumbed to his injuries at the Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) on Tuesday morning, taking the death toll to three. The deceased was identified as Abdur Rab, 25.
In-charge of DMCH police camp Bachhu Miah said that after three days of struggle for life, Abdur Rob, who suffered 88 percent burn injuries in the blast, had finally died the Burn and Plastic Surgery unit
of DMCH.
Earlier, two victims– Abdur Rab’s mother Hasina Begum, 42, with 96 percent burns and father Arab Ali, 50, with 60 percent burns–succumbed to their injuries early Saturday and Monday night respectively. They had received severe burn injuries in a gas line explosion in a two-storey building at Manikganjpara area of Narashinghapur in Ashulia, on the outskirts of the capital city, on Friday.
Abdur Rab’s wife Ripa Begum, 22, and daughter Ayesha Moni, 2, have been undergoing treatment at the hospital.
