Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy (BSA) staged a show of archeological play ‘Mahasthan’ (The Great Land) on November 23 at the Bhasu Bihar archaeological site of Mahasthangarh in Bogura. Based on the political, cultural and social history-tradition of two and a half thousand years, BSA has taken an initiative to bring this archeological production on stage with the participation of 350 artistes. After the rehearsal of six months, the technical show of the play staged on April 28 this year on BSA premises.
Written by Dr Selim Mozahar, Liaquat Ali Lucky has planned and directed the play.
Cultural Affairs Ministry secretary Md Nasir Uddin Ahmed inaugurated the show, while Prof Hasan Azizul Huq attended the show as the chief guest. Presided over by BSA director general Liaquat Ali Lucky, noted thespian Ataur Rahman, theatre personality Abdus Selim, director general of the archaeological department Altaf Hossain and superintendent of police of Bogura Md Ali Ashraf Bhuiyan were present as special guests.
