Amra Bengali Foundation in Washington organised Victory Day and DC Book Fair-2018 at the city’s Arlington Central Library auditorium. Under the banner of Amra Bengali Foundation, a victory rally was taken out around 5:30pm on December 16.
The event was inaugurated by singing of the national anthem. The participants of the choir included Abu Rumi, Dinar Monir, Dorthy Bose, Marina Rahman, Rafiquel Islam Akash and several others.
During the programme, the boys and girls of Amra Bengali Foundation’s youth team were presented with testimonials for their contribution to last year’s event. The testimonials were awarded by members of Amra Bengali Foundation which included Rokeya Haider, Head of Bangla, Voice of America and the Chief Advisor of Amra Bengali Foundation; Gibak Kumar Barua, General Secretary; Md Aman Ullah, Treasurer;Dewan Arshan Ali Bojoy, Programme Manager and Md Mustafizur Rahman, Project Director.
The main programme started with singers Joyonti Barua, Sudip Barua, Supriya Barua, Mili Barua and Banani Chowdhury singing the liberation songs of that time quite relevant among the valiant freedom fighters. The programme drew its conclusion with a musical performance from Dinar Monir and vocalist AnupBarua. For the performance, Tabla was played by Nakibul Khan while Joy Dutta Barua performed with the Mandira.
