Abahani Limited ran riot over Rahmatgonj MFS by 5-1 goals during Bangladesh Premier League football match at the Bangabandhu National Stadium in Dhaka yesterday. Nabib Newaz Ziban and scored a brace to give Abahani the lead. However, the deficit was reduced by Rahmatgonj’s Siyo Zunapio Jeancy goal right before half time.
During the second half, Abahani players were all over Rahmatgonj’s fragile defense. Sunday Chizoba’s brace in the 50th and 60th minute gave Abahani a breathing space. Then Nabib Ziban completed his hat trick in the 93rd minute by scoring another goal.
In the other match, Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club blanked Team Bangladesh Jute Mills Corporation (BJMC) by 2-0 goals in the Bangladesh Premier League Football on Saturday at Shaheed Bhulu Stadium in Noakhali.
In the day’s match, foreign recruits Luciano and David scored one goal each for the winning side. Both the goals came in the first half.
Luciano opened an account for Sheikh Jamal scoring the first goal early in the 13th minute while David sealed the victory scoring the second goal for Sheikh Jamal in the 33rd minute of the match.After the lemon break, BJMC tried hard to stage a fight back in the match but they failed to convert the goals due to lack of proper finishing.
On the other hand, although Sheikh Jamal dominated the proceeding, especially in the first half, and notched their deserving victory while BJMC were totally off colored on the day.
