The biggest fashion event in the country, ‘TRESemmé Bangladesh Fashion week 2019’, recently drew its conclusion at the International Convention City, Bashundhara on Monday. 19 Bangladeshi and 11 International designers showcased their craft and work for three days starting from February 23 till 25. Fashion Design Council of Bangladesh (FDCB) was the creative partner of the event with Le Meridien Dhaka as the hospitality partner.
Nine countries participated at the show, to encourage a regional space for design and fashion. “We want to put Bangladeshi designs on an international platform to be able to learn from the experience, and also share our rich and complex designs with other nations across the borders,” stated Maheen Khan, founder and president, Fashion Design Council of Bangladesh (FDCB).
Fashion icons from nine countries, including India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Maldives, Thailand, Indonesia and Malaysia, along with local fashion icons, participated in the event .“I hope that all those who are remotely interested in fashion designing, will look out for this gem of an event,” added Maheen.
The show featured designers like Paromita Banerjee from India, Humaira Khan, Riffat Reza Raka, Sarah Karim, Sadiya Mishu, Musarrat Rahman, Aishath Shamla from the Maldives, Ezmat Naz Rima, Lipi Khandker and Anu Shrestha from Nepal among others.
The global hair care brand, TRESemmé has been the go-to brand for hair professionals across the world. Its products have been used in the backstage of many major fashion events like the New York Fashion Week.
With the same spirit, TRESemmé has owned the fashion platform in Bangladesh, sponsoring fashion events since its launch in 2015. TRESemmé aims to set a permanent fashion fixture in Bangladesh’s cultural calendar and influence the fashion revolution with this event. This was till now the biggest fashion event in the country that helped to promote the fashion in day to day life through introducing professional salon chain.
