A total of 68 ruling Awami League ticket-seekers for the upcoming parliamentary elections collected nomination papers on Friday and Saturday for the 16 constituencies of Chattogram.

The nomination seekers from the Awami League are running to high ups of the party as well as collecting nomination papers from the Election Commission for the 11th parliament polls, sources said.

Khadijatul Anwar Sony, A T M Pearul Islam, Belal Mohammed Nuri, Mohammed Mijanur Rahman and Mohammed Shahajan collected nomination papers for constituency Chattogram-2 (Fatikchari).
Mahafujur Rahman Mita, and Mohammed Najim Uddin Jamshed collected nomination papers for constituency Chattogram-3 (Sandwip).
S M Al Mamun, Nisar Uddin Ahmod, Biktiar Uddin Chowdhury and Mostafa Kamal Chowdhury collected nomination papers for constituency Chattogram-4 (Sitakunda).
Incumbent lawmaker Fazle Karim Chowdhury collected nomination papers for constituency Chattogram-6 (Raozan).

Nomination papers and all other necessary papers for the parliament polls reached the EC office in Chattogram Friday morning. The EC started selling nomination papers from Friday morning.
Munir Hossain Khan, the district election officer of Chattogram said, “candidates can collect and submit the nomination papers from 9 am to 5 pm from November 9 to 19. The candidate can collect and submit the nomination papers from EC office as well as from office of Deputy Commissioner, Upazila Nirbahi Officer on those days.”
