Members of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) in a drive arrested five suspected drug traders, including a woman, along with 31,000 pieces of Yaba pills from Linkroad BSCIC area in Cox’s Bazar district town on Thursday night. RAB-7 confirmed the matter through a press release issued on Friday.
The arrestees are Afzal Sardar, 68, son of Ishak Sardar, Milon Hossain, 35, son of Shahjahan, Mosharrof Hosasin, 42, son of Rahman Sardar, Jahirul Islam, 52, son of Humayun Kabir, all hailing from Mouchha Mandra village in Laohajang Upazila of Munshiganj district and Shefali Begum, 30, daughter of Shahed Ali Fakir of Lebutala Uttarpara village in Goplaganj Sadar upazila.
On information, a team of RAB-7 put a special check post at the venue and intercepted a Cox’s Bazar bound bus at about 9:15 pm. Later, the elite forces detained the five and seized the contraband tablets from their possession.

The estimated value of the seized tablets is around Tk 1.55 crore.
