At least four people were killed in road accident in Rangpur, while two others were killed in Rajshahi and Chapanawabganj on Sunday.
In Rangpur, four passengers of a battery-run auto- rickshaw were killed and three others injured in a road accident on the Dhaka-Thakurgaon highway at Hajirhat Monthona point in Rangpur city in the morning.
Two of the deceased are Shaju Mian, 35, and Chan Mian, 30, of village Uttar Singergari under Kishoreganj upazila of Nilphamari district. The accident occurred when a Thakurgaon bound night coach of Hanif Paribahan from Dhaka hit the auto-rickshaw killing two persons on the spot and injuring four others at about 7:00 am. On information, police rushed to the spot and rescued the injured persons. They were sent them to Rangpur Medical College Hospital (RMCH) where two injured person succumbed to injuries.
In Rajshahi, a butcher was killed and three others were injured in a road accident on Rajshahi-Chapai Nawabganj highway at Rail-gate Mor area of Godagari upazila in Rajshahi in the morning.
The deceased was identified as Jisom, 28, son of Josim of Achuyavata Kosaypara village under the upazila.
Officer-in-charge of Godagari model police station Jahangir Alam said that a Chapai Nawabganj-bound speedy truck hit the four butchers while they were working in the area, leaving Jisom was dead on the spot.
In C’nawabganj, a minor girl was killed as she was hit by a three wheeler at Kallyanpur in Chapainawabganj municipality in morning. The deceased is two years old girl Hudaifa, daughter of Golam Rasul, a resident of the same area.
Police said the accident occurred at about 10.30 am when the vehicle hit the girl while she was walking in front of her house near a local road.
