A four-day Iranian film festival has begun at the National Music and Dance auditorium of Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy (BSA) in Segun Bagicha of the capital. Iranian Cultural Centre, Dhaka and BSA have jointly organized the film show.
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s media adviser Iqbal Sobhan Chowdhury was present as the chief guest at the inaugural ceremony. Presided over by Director of Film and Cinematography Department of Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy Badrul Anam Bhuiyan, charge d’ Affaires of Iranian Embassy in Dhaka Ebrahim Shafiei Rezvani Nejad and eminent actor and film director Syed Hasan Imam were present as special guests.
Two films are screened from 11 am to 1 pm and from 3 pm to 5 pm every day. A 2005 Iranian drama film ‘So Close, So far’ directed by Reza Mirkarimi was shown on the inaugural day. Today, a 2011 Iranian film ‘Maritime Silk Road’ will be screened at 11am, while ‘Track Hundred Fourty Three’ will be screened at 3pm.
From November 9 to 13, the Iranian films also will be screened at Shilpakala Academy auditorium of Rajshahi, Chattogram and Khulna division.
