A total of 39 students of Rajshahi University are going to receive gold medals for their brilliant results in graduation and post-graduation level.
On the basis of faculty wise merit list, the talented students will be given the prestigious medals in three categories on July 26.
Aslam Hossain, Deputy Registrar of Academic Section, confirmed the matter. He said that the decision was taken from the 42nd meeting of RU Award Committee.
He said that 32 successful students who bagged the first class first position in merit list under eight faculties in honours of 2015 and 2016 and post-graduation in 2014 and 2015, will get the gold medal funded by Agrani Bank Limited. Besides, two students, who clinched the top position in the MBBS under medicine faculty in 2016 and 2017, will be given the Dr AK Khan Gold medal.
Simultaneously, three students, who grabbed the first position in the post-graduation in 2015, 2016 and 2017 in Department of Philosophy, will get Dr Momtaj Uddin Gold Medals. Education Minister Nurul Islam Nahid is expected to attend the medal distribution ceremony as the chief guest.
Vice-chancellor of National University Prof Dr Harun-Or-Rashid and Chairman of Agrani Bank are also scheduled to join the programme as special guests to be chaired by RU Vice-chancellor Prof Abdus Sobhan.
