The Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) arrested 33 suspects from the capital in a regular anti-narcotics drive for selling and consuming illegal drugs.
Different police stations under the DMP conducted the drive and arrested the suspected offenders from different areas of the capital in 24 hour drive ended at 6:00am on Thursday.
The drive led to seizure of 2,452 pieces of contraband yaba tablets, 232 grams of heroin, 5.5 kilograms of cannabis, 512 bottles of phensedyl syrup, 305 canned beers with some other drug items, says a DMP statement. A total of 24 cases were filed under the Narcotics Control Act against the suspects with the concerned police stations in the city.
