At least three people were killed and three others were injured in a road accident in Jamalpur on Friday.
The accident took place when an iron-laden truck lost control on the Tarakandi-Bhuapur highway in Jamalpur’s Sarishabari upazila and plunged into a roadside ditch in the morning. The tree people died on the spot.
The deceased were identified as Nazir Hossain, 50, son of Foyez Sheikh of Putiyarpara village, Reaz Uddin Nimai, son of Umar Sardar of Sainchararpar village, and Abdur Barik, 49, son of Abdul Gafur.
The injured are Ali, Waz Uddin and Shahid Mia. They were rescued by the police and were admitted to the Sharishbari Upazila Health Complex.
Officer-in-Charge of Sharishbari Police Station Rezaul Islam Khan confirmed the incident.
The truck was heading
towards Sarishbari from Jute and Garment parts of Keraniganj in Dhaka.
